Team for Everton
A very important game, this one. For one thing, we need to bounce back from the defeat to Brentford. But most important is that Everton are one of our closest rivals and three points here will go a long way to ensuring we finish above them again.

For years, it seems, Everton were something of a bogey team for us, especially when Lukaku was playing for them and scoring in just about every game against us. But we have done much better against them more recently and apparently they have a number of injuries, so this could be a good time to play them.

I expect no messing about from Moyes - the usual full-strength first eleven. Coufal may not quite be fit but I would have no worries about Fredericks stepping in - he has done well when he has played this season.

Fabianski
Coufal Zouma Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice Soucek
Bowen Fornals Benrahma
Antonio

Subs: Areola, Fredericks, Diop, Dawson, Noble, Kral, Lanzini, Vlasic, Yarmolenko.

Re: Team for Everton
Wouldn't be surprised if moysie switches to a back 3 for this . As defensively we've looked suspect all season playing a back 4.

Agree other than Dawson for Zouma. Talk of Dawson's form slump has been exaggerated.

Rossal 9:49 Thu Oct 14
Re: Team for Everton
If Richarlison and DCL are still injured dont see a need to go 5 at the back

Areola

Coufal Zouma Ogbonna Cresswell

Soucek Rice

Bowen Fornals Benrahma

Antonio

Only change id be tempted to make would be Kral for Soucek

Time to accept Fabianski shouldn’t be starting folks. He wasn’t even given a full game against Andorra for his international career farewell.

Kral for souchek who looks fucked and out of form

Re: Team for Everton
A better international break for us with noone arriving back late and playing on Sunday.
Antonio & Coufal stayed home, Soucek played on Monday & Rice in London on Tuesday.
Benrahma was an unused sub in a 4-0 win away in Niger on Tuesday.

Personally think its time for Areola but think it will be the opening post team.

As Rossal, time for Areola. Also hope Moyes reverts to way Rice and Soucek played last season and gets the best out of both of them.

Re: Team for Everton
I wish we considered playing the back 3 more.
It feels like we set a formation to accommodate having more attacking players but become more and more vunerable at the back.

I feel like maybe us leaking goals had less to do with Dawson and more to do with being easily overrun in midfield. I also feel Antonio would play more as a target man in that formation rather than drifting to the wings which is what many complain about.

Also, want us to be a bit unpredictable so switching formation is a good tactic to have. Benitez does his homework all the time.

Re: Team for Everton
Interesting how many are calling for Areola. That would be a bit harsh on Fabianski so I can't see it happening yet unless Fab makes a major blunder or gets injured.

only change id consider would be diop for oggy, and because of the pace of gray & charlie richardson. I think we'll be unchanged

me too. we play that system well. 3 at the back away to good sides make sense.

I’m also in favour of pairing Zouma with Diop - who wouldn’t be (unless you are the opposition)?

Back 5, can’t keep clean sheets for shit.

Areola
Coufal Zouma Dawson Cresswell Arthur
Rice Soucek
Benramha
Bowen Antonio.

Ogbonna is playing like he is 55.

If that's the case then Masuaku plays like a 3yr old.
Complete and utter waste of space. Even playing for the U23's he couldn't muster an attempt or assist.
yes the u3's next time.
Coufal shouldn't have played against Brentford. A 3 week rest would of been much better for him.
You drop Fornals for Dawson,hahaha

Areloa
Johnson Zouma Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice Soucek
Bowen Benrhama Fornals
Antonio

Re: Team for Everton
I’m not Masuaku’s biggest fan but we do leak goals for fun. Our left side is dog shit with Ogbonna & Cresswell together, lacks so much pace. I think we’ve looked worse since Dawson has gone out the side and maybe Father Time has caught up with Ogbonna.

Well Fornals was shit against Brentford, but then so was Benramha so either could miss out. I think we need to be more solid and adding an extra body even though granted that’s Masauku in theory should help.

1. It was San Marino...

2. He was taken off at the right time - Poland were cruising and the home crowd should then be able to show Fabianski some appreciation for a good career.

3. He was substituted in the 57th minute on his 57th appearance...

Re: Team for Everton
Interesting that some are having a few doubts about Oggy. I have been thinking he's been a bit dodgy the last few games but thought maybe it was just me. It could just be that he was taking time to get match fit after his injury. But I wonder if he has lost a bit of motivation now he knows he's not getting back in the Italy squad.

Re: Team for Everton
The team picks itself now. Probably the OP team will be the one. Hopefully Coufal is fit because Fred is talentless on the ball.

Not getting the clamour for Areola, Fabianski hasn't done much wrong at all and Areola has looked steady but unspectacular apart from the first half in Zagreb where he looked fucking dodgy and whenever the ball is in the air - he has an aversion to catching the cunt.

Calling for Ogbonna to be dropped is fucking ridiculous at this early stage and I'd probably stick with Zouma who has looked decent to me. We've looked a bit shakier defensively but I attribute that to us not being as dominant in the centre of midfield where Soucek looks knackered and is playing a less than ideal role of holding while Rice headlessly legs it up field because someone told him he might get paid a tenner more if he scored goals. Need to switch those two around or bring in Kral who is more accustomed to holding. Or all three.

Front four are obvious Charlie Hussle 1 and 2, twinkle toes and Antonio. Dont want to see Yarmolenko despite his stellar international performances - he's never done it for us.

Thought we were well on top against Brentford and extremely unlucky to lose, a draw would be acceptable in this one but we need to be having a go at this lot.
